These two video’s aim to demonstrate that as a community school, our focus is on integrating both the discipline of Eastern pedagogy, with the creative and collaborative values of Western pedagogy via the IB programme.
Dear Parents and Students of HWA,
It is with great regret that the Parent Support Group, in conjunction with the School, announces the postponement of the school barbecue this weekend.
This is due to the ongoing hazy condition, and the uncertainty of the weather forecast for this coming weekend.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you would be aware, the haze situation has improved considerably over the weekend, even though it has moved in the wrong direction this afternoon. Based on the Singapore NEA 3-hour readings at 5 pm today, we can confirm that school will be open as usual tomorrow, Monday.
I hope that you and everyone at CNIS are well. I am sure you are all looking forward to
the end of term.
As promised, I said I would let you know how the girls got on at the UK National Mandarin
Reading Competition in London this weekend. They were entered into the 'Non-Native' group
category and recited a chinese poem together and came 1st Place! This category consisted of all
different ages groups and they were judged alongside each other - a group of 5 adults coming in 2nd place.
As you know last week our school hosted the PYP evaluation team visits. It most definitely was a nerve-racking experience for the entire PYP team, as any scrutiny of processes, and collection of evidence would be. However we were also very welcoming of the process, as any recommendations will only help us to become an even better school. The official report will arrive in four to six weeks. The parents interviewed certainly did their part to project a very positive image of the school. We thank you for taking valuable time out of your schedule to come and speak with the team. The group of parents invited did not represent the PSG, and were a very diverse group representing different grade levels and different backgrounds.
