During this week (25th September to 29th September), the G11 and G12 DP Geography students completed their mid-semester assessments on their units “Population and Change” and “Patterns in Resource consumption” respectively.
The Grade 11 History class visited the World War Two exhibition presented by the National Archives of Singapore at the historic Former Ford Factory. Students learned about life in Singapore before, during and after WWII. After the visit, students commented on how they felt that the history they are learning in class came alive during the visit.
Last year Scouts CCA had a lot of exciting activities such as a camp fire at Ponggol view primary school, a hike at Coney island and a visit to the Singapore Maritime museum. This year we are looking forward to more fun and learning.
CCAs resumed with our open house at the end of August. Scouts CCA has attracted 25 primary school cub scout students to join so far this year.
Green Club visit to Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UN World Heritage Site
On Saturday 3 September, Jasper Li (李振保) represented HWA in the “OPL Scholastic XiangQi Competition 2016" sponsored by the XiangQi Mind Train Academy (象棋学院). He finished in 12th place in the U8 (8 years and under) category and earned a bronze trophy.

2. Mosquito breeding checks twice a week.
