One community, a world of difference

9 September 2016

I met up with a group of parents who have been supporting the school, some for as long as six years, on Wednesday evening. They are busy parents with full-time jobs yet they took the time to come to talk with this new principal of a school they have grown to love. I really appreciate that gesture.

The safety and emotional well-being of my students is something that is constantly at the back of my mind. We intend to raise awareness of Stranger Danger with our students with a talk and some classroom activities. I have also begun correspondence with the local community office (which liaises with the various government organs) to explore the possibility of putting up a zebra crossing outside our school gate.

It is nearly 6 in the evening now, but my unread mails beckon to me. It seems like an educator’s job is never quite finished!

Till the next time I write…
