The Green Club was in for a treat when the National Environment Agency came to the school to raise awareness about Dengue. The students learned that only the Aedes mosquito spreads Dengue, that only the females feed on blood and that they only do so when they are carrying eggs. We were all surprised to hear that the Aedes mosquito mostly bites during the day. The highlight for the Green Club was the real Aedes mosquitos that the NEA brought with them at various stages of their development. Luckily, the mosquitos were bred in a lab and did not carry the Dengue virus!
