Our Grade 5 and 6 students went to visit Bright Hill Evergreen Home with Mr Max, Ms Lakshmi and Ms Natasha this week. The students brought food and cakes and celebrated the December birthdays of the elderly who live at the Home. The students also performed songs and conducted a bingo session, and enjoyed bonding time with the elderly. Reflecting on the experience, students said they found the time spent at Bright Hill very rewarding and that they enjoyed reaching out to the elderly people who live there. The visit highlighted the importance of service in education and enabled students to work on their IB Learner Profile attributes such as being caring, reflective communicators. The next visit will take place during Chinese New Year to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Dog!
