One community, a world of difference

8 September 2018

Greetings to all!

I am totally thrilled and amazed by the power of Parents’ involvement, and the strength each can draw from another is beautiful. My sincere thanks to HWA’s PSG for organizing such a successful BBQ night on the 7 September 2018.

The night was filled with an unexpected excitement, it rained the whole day on Friday and got more massive in the evening when BBQ started, but amazingly, no one was deterred, people streamed in, cars drove in.

The BBQ pit’s started to be layered with yummy food and students queued to savor the simple spread, grilled with love from many parents volunteers and family helpers.

As the rain got heavier, the wind howled, tables and chairs were wet, the crowd squeezed tightly together, they chatted, shared their potluck meals, and children were busy running to and fro the various venues the school had prepared to entertain them. It was fun to see them playing with friends in uniform at p.m.! Imagine, school the whole day, and they were still chanting, ”FUN”!

It was such a lovely wet evening that many asked me if we could have another session as such.

Surely, PSG is a team of vibrant and involved parent’s community in HWA that there is planning to have more of such sessions together.

Yes, HWA will support PSG’s events, parents are so vital to our school’s success, and the kids and HWA’s management team needs the parents. They form our pillars of invaluable feedback channel, suggestion and cultural exchanges that build the rich broth of HWA’s bicultural background, and this is the essence of international school’s success.

Thanks to the whole community at HWA, we, the management really wish to see lots more parents from Kg, PYP, MYP, and DP to join us for all events.

Coming up next will be our Mid-Autumn festival, a 2 days events on the 21 and 22 September. We look forward to sharing our IB’s bilingual and bicultural experiences with the invited guests.

I will share of the next activity that promises the wholesome bonding and fun for the family of HWAs’.

Till then, Cheers!
