HWA International School celebrates Deepavali Festival on Friday, 21st of October 2022. The activity promotes HWA’s vision of intercultural perspectives and our mission to encourage international-mindedness. Deepavali is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. It is also known as the Festival of Lights. While the story behind Deepavali/Diwali and the manner of celebration varies from region to region, the essence is the same – to rejoice in the Inner Light.
The learners learnt the basics of Diya paper-folding artwork making, and they got the opportunity to have Henna tattoo designs applied on their hands, which would have been a first for many.

Through these activities, the students learn about the Indian culture and appreciate the beauty of their tradition. This also develops a better understanding of our school’s vision and mission.
