HWA Summer School-Discover Singapore’s vibrant history

Last week, our summer school students embarked on an engaging and enlightening journey, delving into Singapore’s vibrant history and maritime excellence. This week’s activities encompassed learning about the pre-independence era, visiting the Singapore Maritime Gallery, and exploring the National Heritage Gallery.

The students began their educational journey by immersing themselves in the captivating history of Singapore before independence. Through interactive sessions, documentaries, and engaging discussions, they learned about the struggles, triumphs, and aspirations of the early pioneers who laid the foundation for the nation’s development.

From the arrival of Sir Stamford Raffles to the challenges faced during the Japanese Occupation, the students gained a profound understanding of Singapore’s tumultuous past. On Tuesday, the students went on a trip to the National Heritage Gallery, where they celebrated Singapore’s diverse cultural heritage.
