This past week, the school was buzzing with creativity and imagination as students immersed themselves in various art activities during Art Appreciation Week. The week was a celebration of artistic expression and an opportunity for students to explore different forms of art.
Colourful Pumpkin Making: Colourful Pumpkin Crafting: Inspired by the renowned artist Yayoi Kusama, students used a variety of colors to create vibrant and eyecatching pumpkin artworks. This activity not only enriched their color application skills but also effectively improved their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Clay Tile Creations:Delving into the depths of clay relief, students were introduced to technical terminology and advanced techniques that deepen their appreciation of this art form. Applying their newfound expertise, students crafted individualized sculptures, each one a testament to their creative prowess.
Cardboard Sculptures: Students were tasked with selecting cardboard shapes, connecting them, and creating joints for assembly, fostering critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
Art Appreciation Week at HWA International School aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking and analytical skills, nurture emotional and personal development, and instil an appreciation for the beauty and aesthetics of art. Throughout the week, students engaged in a multitude of activities, exploring various forms of art and different artists’ techniques and styles. It was a week brimming with exploration, creativity, and inspira*on, encouraging students to think outside the box and express themselves through art.
