Cultural Exploration, Foster Inclusivity, Promote Learning, and Strengthen Community Bonds – these were the inspiring themes that filled the air at HWA International School on October 27th, during our International Day celebration.
The day started with the speech from the principal, highlighting the importance of cultural coexistence and the value of embracing diversity. His words reminding everyone of the significance of fostering inclusivity and respect for different cultures.
The event featured captivating performances by students from various grade levels, each representing a different country’s culture. The Grade 3 and Grade 6 students began with an engaging presentation on Egypt, showcasing the fascinating history and wonders of the ancient civilization. They shared their knowledge and passion, leaving the audience in awe of Egypt’s rich heritage.
The Grade 7 and Grade 8 students embraced the role of ambassadors for Papua New Guinea. Through an interactive question and answer game, they shared fascinating facts about the country, encouraging active participation from the audience. This immersive experience fostered a deeper understanding and appreciation for Papua New Guinea’s customs and traditions.
Next, the Grade 5 students took the stage to represent the United Kingdom. They not only enlightened the audience about British culture but also showcased a traditional dance that displayed the grace and elegance of their heritage.
The Grade10 students showcased the cultural influences that have shaped the United States. They presented interesting facts about famous musicians, landmarks, and movies, portraying the diverse identity of American culture.
Brazil’s vibrant spirit was celebrated by the Grade11 and Grade 12 students, who organized a cultural showcase. They incorporated traditional games and prepared Feijoada, a famous Brazilian dish, which filled the air with tantalizing aromas.
