Swimming is often seen as a monotonous sport, with the same exercises repeated every day. This can make it difficult for young children to stay motivated and committed. However, there are always exceptions to this rule, and one such exception is eight-year-old Isabel Yu, a third-grade student at HWA International School.
After two years of dedicated training, Isabel recently achieved remarkable success in a swimming competition held in September. She won a total of five medals, including two gold medals in the 50-meter and 100-meter breaststroke, a gold in freestyle, a silver in medley, and a bronze in butterfly.
When asked about her most challenging swimming style, Isabel modestly admitted that butterfly was the most difficult for her. However, her passion for swimming makes the learning process enjoyable, and any nervousness she feels occasionally does not deter her.
During the interview, Isabel was asked if there was anything she would like to say to her family. With a beaming smile on her face, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her mother and grandfather for their support and for taking her to swim. She also extended her thanks to her school teachers for their encouragement and support.
It is worth noting that HWA International School not only prioritizes academic achievements but also values and supports students’ interests in sports, culture, and art. The school aims to explore students’ potential in these areas.
In conclusion, HWA International School would like to congratulate Isabel Ding on her remarkable achievements in swimming and hopes that she continues to fulfill her potential in the sport. We encourage her to maintain her love for swimming.
